Scope of Work

The homeowner came to Anderson through a pool contractor but needed a much deeper design to realize their full vision. Working without an outside architect, our team led the design development, shaping every aspect from grading to planting, circulation to stormwater engineering.

●Engineered and executed massive earthworks, importing over 6,000 yards of fill
●Designed and installed rolling topography inspired by alpine foothills
●Integrated koi pond, hot tub, pool, firepit, and working farm into a cohesive estate plan
●Planted 50,000+ native plugs and seeded expansive pollinator meadows
●Created multiple outdoor rooms for entertaining, dining, and gathering
●Designed with French country architecture in mind while enhancing ecological performance

This project challenged us to think beyond patios and plantings and instead create a landscape that functions as an extension of the architecture itself. Every decision—from grading and drainage to the placement of stone, lighting, water, and plantings—was made to create a seamless experience where beauty, function, and craftsmanship work together.

Design Challenges

This landscape required balancing environmental responsibility with visual appeal. The challenge was to seamlessly integrate complex water management, and a large-scale irrigation system without compromising the appearance or long-term performance of the landscape.

What We Did

Closed-Loop Stormwater Management
Installed three 3,200-gallon underground chambers, filtering and recirculating stormwater with phosphorus removal for sustainable irrigation.

Alpine Topography by Design
Imported 6,000 yards of fill to create an undulating, naturalistic landscape that mimics mountain foothills and conceals water movement.

Resilient Irrigation Strategy
anaged a 40-zone irrigation system by sequencing run times, prioritizing key zones, and integrating town water backup during extreme heat.
